I am trying to be an understanding princess.
I understand that The Help has two parents she gives a lot of time to.
I understand that The Boss is still recovering from the eye surgery gone wrong and it has been almost five weeks since he could drive.
I understand that he is fed up but at least he does seem to be recovering now.
I understand that The Help had a morning in the hospital having a procedure she won’t talk about and she has lots of appointments for herself, The Boss and her parents.
I understand that we have been lucky not to have missed a morning in the park or my cuddles in the evening despite all of this.
However, I DO NOT UNDERSTAND how they could leave me so often alone with ‘Wreck it Raff’ and think it’s okay!
The Evidence
I understand we are being left a little more than usual …….. but…… H E L P !!!!
With love from Zena, the (safe) and understanding Princess

Oh Zena, you poor thing!
I hope things get back to normal in your
family real soon!
Good Luck!
May 26, 2013 at 4:25 am
So do I – babysitting the pup is exhausting!
Thanks for calling by, nice to meet you. I like your smart red harness π
May 26, 2013 at 4:14 am
Oh dear. Zak has 3 of those exact toys in the exact same condition. I am always stunned by just how much stuffing comes of them! Sometimes it looks as though it has snowed in our lounge as the couch and carpet vanish beneath a layer of white.
May 26, 2013 at 4:27 am
Same here – it is amazing isn’t it? The Help can be heard quoting Macbeth with a slight twist, ‘Who’d have the toy had so much stuffing in him?’ π
May 26, 2013 at 7:27 am
I have to say there are a lot of smiles here after seeing those photos π
Big WOOFS from Solo and my new sister Krissy π
May 26, 2013 at 9:41 am
I’m glad to have brought a smile to someone’s Sunday Solo π
There are many more where these came from!!
May 26, 2013 at 8:00 am
Aww Zena, you poor thing! Watching over the youngster is hard stuff.. Hope everything will get back to normal soon. Pawkiss π
May 26, 2013 at 9:42 am
Thanks Little Binky. I think I need a holiday!
May 26, 2013 at 8:06 am
Poor Zena! Hope The Help and the rest of the family get better soon. Looks like Raffles is taking on Easy for quickest kill of the toy π
May 26, 2013 at 9:42 am
I think Easy can probably still take him, but it’s close π
May 26, 2013 at 8:12 am
Best wishes to everyone for a speedy recovery.
Zena, I think they should be grateful to you for looking after Raffles. If you weren’t keeping him busy, he’d probably have made the furniture look like one of those toys by now!
May 26, 2013 at 9:44 am
I hope they appreciate me and understand my sacrifice as much as you do Clowie π
I think things seem to be settling down a little now. One more week and The Boss can drive himself which will help π
May 26, 2013 at 10:18 am
It’s got to be hard always being the responsible one Zena…I’m sure your hoomins appreciate your help…
May 27, 2013 at 12:49 am
I never realised before Gizmo just how hard it is to be responsible. I have an ever increasing respect for Zac who was the responsible one with me for six years. Six years! I’m not sure I’ll survive that long with the pup!!
May 26, 2013 at 10:22 am
Yikes Zena! You need rescuing! Raffles is out of control, there’s disemboweled toys all ’round….the carnage must be upsetting to a Princess! If you had a teleport device you could come visit me in my PEACEFUL QUIET HOUSE in Virginia!
Kitty Hugs, Sammy
May 27, 2013 at 12:50 am
Peaceful. Quiet. Oh that sounds magical….. In fact I think The Help would be ready to pop me in a suitcase and we would both teleport in if we could π
May 26, 2013 at 1:12 pm
OMD this was just too funny!! In defense of Raff, I had one of those geese too (the operative word being “had”) and decimated it within FIVE MINUTES BOL!!
Hoping your humans are on the mend!
May 27, 2013 at 12:52 am
Thanks Dakota. Yes, they are slowly improving. Not having The Boss able to drive has been a bit tough, but his vision is slowly returning. The boy does play with the toys a little before disembowling and I just put it down to an enquiring mind. He wants to see how they work, except of course they don’t after he’s finished with them!
May 26, 2013 at 1:56 pm
Oh you know what? I have – or I HAD the same duck and the same fox (is it the one who has two squeakers?) We could huddle our leftovers together and maybe we can create an intact toy? All my best wishes to the help, her parents and The Boss – hope all are well soon .
May 27, 2013 at 12:53 am
Yes, two squeakers and the duck sort of quacked which is so refreshing after all the other toys squeak. And there was the pig who grunted but really, there was not enough left of him to take a photo – poor piggy.
Hoping that things return to normal soon, we’re getting there, I think.
May 26, 2013 at 2:06 pm
Zena, you wouldn’t want me for a Sister..BOL, they look quite intact compare to mine.. Poor Mommy, hope she is recovering and things get back to normal soon.. Hugs and love xx00xx
Mollie and Alfie
May 27, 2013 at 12:54 am
And I thought you looked so gentle Mollie! What do you weigh? If you are under 35 kilos I’ll swap, I don’t care if you eviscerate every toy at least you wouldn’t be able to squash me with a paw!
May 26, 2013 at 6:47 pm
You’re a terrier and you’re dealing with a poodle. You should be able to control him because you’re smarter. He should be doing your bidding.
May 27, 2013 at 12:55 am
π I did get the double bed last night and he was on the floor π
May 27, 2013 at 1:10 am
Remember, he only got the floor because you granted him use of it for the night.
May 27, 2013 at 6:44 am
π Yes Ma’am π
I can see you can teach me a lot π
May 26, 2013 at 9:00 pm
Glad you are there to document the scene of these crimes, Zena. Best assured, The Help and the Boss will reward you for all your hard work once they’ve recovered. Hang in there! Much love, The Scottie Mom.
May 27, 2013 at 12:56 am
Thanks Scottie Mom. I only have myself to blame really, I refused to use the ‘cave bed’ The Help bought for me. I prefer to go under the desk and occasionally come out and do flying teases. Rather like guerilla warfare!!
May 27, 2013 at 2:38 pm
I hope the Boss’s eye is better soon.
Well I guess you know that Raffles will protect you from any dangerous toys BOL!
May 28, 2013 at 4:34 am
Very true Misaki! He might hide behind me when the possums hiss at night, but at day I can sleep soundly knowing that no squishy cow is going to attack π
May 27, 2013 at 5:57 pm
Sending happy thoughts your way that things straighten out soon for you all! Hugs!
May 28, 2013 at 4:34 am
Thank you. We think maybe next week…….?
May 27, 2013 at 9:22 pm
Oh Zena I totally understand your problem. Big furry hugs from Archie the top cat of the three moggies xxx
May 28, 2013 at 4:35 am
Thanks Archie, I could do with a furry hug π
May 28, 2013 at 8:18 am
Looks like Raffles displays the same degree of restraint with soft toys as Litchi does. Litchi is no longer allowed any soft toys (although she regularly manages to find the cats ones and does the same thing). Poor Princess Zena, being left alone with that mayhem. I am very impressed to find out that you haven’t missed a morning walk or evening cuddles though, especially with all that your Help has going on. Please send her my best wishes and a speedy recovery for The Boss.
May 28, 2013 at 8:43 am
Thanks for your thoughts. The Boss seems to be on the mend now. He drove the car today and didn’t crash so that’s a good sign isn’t it?
May 28, 2013 at 8:50 am
Pretty good sign, although I suppose it depends somewhat on whether or not there were any other cars on the road for him to crash into
May 28, 2013 at 8:56 am
We tested him out on the quiet roads yesterday – today he got to drive into the city!
May 28, 2013 at 9:01 am
Maybe you should send out a warning to all other road users π
May 28, 2013 at 12:08 pm
Not a bad idea π
May 28, 2013 at 9:34 am
O no I can’t believe he has deaded that many toys – that’s some going! I hope he is saving his pocket money to replace them?!
May 28, 2013 at 12:08 pm
Today he started on the garden – there is a Bromeliad who will never be the same again!! I think The Boss needs to buy him some toys or he could get around to the roses next!
May 28, 2013 at 9:39 pm
Oh no, Zena, that was quite a bit of toy carnage. I do hope that things for your humans get better very soon . . . and then I definitely hope that things for you get better! A princess should not have to put up with stuff like that. π
May 29, 2013 at 12:01 am
It is the stuff of nightmares – or maybe the stuffing of nightmares!!!
