Hello all,

This is really just a catch-up to say sorry we haven’t been around to visit and comment on your blogs and may not be for a few days.

Monday started so well with my receiving my prize from Animal Couriers for being able to match up the names with their travellers (who said I don’t have a brain!). Along with some cards and a wonderful key ring which The Help has pinched, there was also a great fridge magnet.

The Help is looking for ways to attach it to the outside of the house! And no, it doesn’t mean I’m mad (though maybe I could persuade people that The Pup had a screw lose?), but it would certainly made people talk about us which I like πŸ™‚ I rather like being thought moody and interesting enough to deserve a French label. Anyone who is anyone should have a French label!

I think I’ll have another one made which reads ‘Chien cΓ©lΓ¨bre’ πŸ˜€

So that began Monday well, thank you Animal Couriers.

Then Miss Harper Lee nominated me for the Sunshine Award. I do already have this award but was really touched to be thought of again and if you haven’t met Harper Lee you should pop over to her blog. The picture of her as a pup sitting in a basket made my tail wag it is sooooo cute.

Suddenly, Monday went wrong.

The Help took The Boss to have a check up on his eye and the next thing you know we are off to stay with Devon at the Team leader’s house and they are rushing into Melbourne for emergency surgery on a detached retina 😦

They are now back and The Boss is back to the beginning trying to recover with a sore eye.

We coped because we know Team leader well and in fact I had a very comfortable night. The spare bedroom at Team Leader’s house is a very nice room with satin and sequin covers. It looks very pretty and just right for a Princess. So, without Team leader realising it until the morning, I spent the night on the satin, sequinned spare bed and The Pup slept on the floor! I just wish The Help would provide a bed as civilised for me at home!

It was however a sad night for another reason too. You have heard me talk about Prissy Paws? What is a blog without someone to tease and what are stories without a villain? Well, he will be cast as the villain no more. He went to visit the vet on Monday and they discovered that he is the end stage of heart failure. Team Leader is very sad and so are we. We are hoping that his little heart will keep on going for longer than the vet thinks and that he will be here to snarl at us for months to come.

So Monday was a very mixed day and all of this is why we are very behind with things and might be a bit behind for a week or two.

All of you take care and keep on having fun and normal communications will resume as soon as possible.

The carpet? You seriously expect me to sleep on the carpet? Where are my satin sheets? Where are my sequins? Pffft

I am The Princess (aka Zena), niece of Zac the All Black and awesome Tibetan Terrier who took me in when I was just a six week pup and tried to teach me all he knew. When I was six and he was eight, Zac crossed over the rainbow bridge and all of a sudden I was alone. I could no longer be the ditzy, happy-go-lucky pup that I had been. This is a diary of how one Princess managed when the world turned real.

  1. Zena, Zena, Zena, ” Le Chien cΓ©lΓ¨bre,”??? You underwent a gender change-now, that”s NEWS. No wonder you haven’t been around lately!

  2. Gosh, prayers out to you! Hope all goes well. Hugs!

  3. Mom says life is like a roller coaster. We had no idea what a “roller coaster” was until mom showed us a video of one & nearly scared the furs off poor Sam. Based on that short & terrifying clip we can confirm that mom’s statement is true & our best advice is to look forward to the next high and to grit your teeth & cross your paws through the lows & know that at the end your family & furends are waiting for you.

    WOW…that was deep…even for me…I think I need a nap.

  4. Congratulations Princess! You have an excellent brain, that’s for sure. I’m sorry for your friend having heart problems, that’s really sad 😦 I hope The Boss’s eye will soon be better.
Btw why sleeping on the carpet, Zena? Who has taken your couch? Pawkiss πŸ™‚

    • Thanks Binky. We don’t have a couch in the lounge room, only in the kitchen/family room. I should try and change that. The Help is willing but The Boss is not! But to be fair I do have three other beds to choose from. I usually take the huge one and leave Raffles the little bed or carpet when we’re in the lounge πŸ˜€ Gotta keep him in his place!

  5. I love that you managed to stay on satin sheets all night, and didn’t have to share with the pup – really when things calm down you should give masterclasses!

Sending big hugs to all of you, including the help! And we will be here when you come back, but in the mean time look after each other!

    • We will Dalton. Love the idea of masterclasses! I think you get away with a lot more when you look like a black shadow and are very silent on your feet, I have a tendency to ‘slip’ into places I’m not meant to go – The Help calls it sneaking!

  6. So sorry to hear about both the Boss’s eye AND Prissy Paws. Hugs to you all xxxx

  7. Oh Zena……first of all sorry to hear about The Boss’ eye – hopefully the surgery took care of that and all will be well VERY soon….secondly, I’m sad about your friend’s heart problem – I do hope he’s around for a long time to come….he’s lucky to have you for a friend that’s for sure. How very elegant that you got to sleep on satin and sequins though – totally befitting a beautiful princess that’s for sure!! Perhaps The Help can find a scrap of satin to line your favorite bed/nap spot ?????

    Kitty Hugs, Sammy

  8. Awww Zena… I hope the Boss will be better soon!
And you take care of yourself, okay?

  9. I am so truly sorry to hear about Prissy Paws. Oh how these animals break our hearts. I am thinking of you all.
Regarding your sleeping arrangements at home, I am somewhat horrified to hear you are not treated to silk and sequins on a daily basis. As a Princess, I must admit that I had simply assumed this was standard. Horrifying. If you require me to start a petition, just say the word.
Wishing The Boss a speedy recover (so he can get out and buy that silk and sequins πŸ™‚ )

    • I KNOW. If I’d realised about the option of silk and sequins I would have wrangled my way onto them sooner. Sadly The Help has more of a beach vibe in her spare rooms so although comfortable they don’t have the same …well…. silkiness!
I’ll keep you posted on Prissy Paws, he may surprise everyone yet, we have our paws crossed.

  10. Congratulations on your award and what a lovely prize!
I hope The Boss feels better soon. Best wishes to Prissy Paws.

  11. Oh, Zena, we are sorry about the bad stuff on Monday, we really hope that things improve.

  12. Congratulations Princess Zena! All my best wishes for Prissy Paws ( I’m sad now too- I remember about his picture as the Easter Bunny) I will hope with you. Please give the Boss a hug from me, hope his eye will be better soon.

    • Thanks Easy, we all appreciate the hugs and support. With luck Prissy Paws will be seen dressed up again πŸ˜‰ Though I won’t cast him as the villain any more.

  13. My, my! You have certainly had a busy and stressful few days, haven’t you? Hopefully, everything ends up okay with your people and he comes home to give you lots of love. I’m so sorry to hear about Prissy Paws though. That happened to my old boy as well and it is never an easy thing to go through. Sometimes it happens much faster than predicted, as with my boy, and sometimes they stick it out to make a few last wonderful memories with everyone. Enjoy your time with him and let you know how much you love him, no matter how much of a grump he’s been in the past.
    Much loves,
    Anastasia and Miss Xeva

  14. I algo a few cards, a magnet and a t.
But I’m not crazy or anything like that.
I hope the Boss fully recovers soon.
    xx

    • Thanks. I gave Raffles the magnet – he isn’t always crazy but he was today. The rain kept him in so he went crazy in the garden. He seemed to have many more legs than four!! So if the magnet fits….
I hope the Boss recovers soon too, then all The Help’s attention will be back on me πŸ˜€

  15. Boss hope you recover soon x Big furry hugs to you all

    Mollie and Alfie

    • πŸ™‚ Mad Dogs and Englishmen……(could that stand for Welshmen too?) I’m sure many would agree with us being crazy πŸ˜€
We think The Boss is a little better today thanks, time and the Specialist will tell.

  17. So sorry to hear about Prissy paws!!!! My hear and kirbys goes out to you Zena, Raffles, and your help. Please keep us updated! xoxo kirby andleah
