The Princess Tails

The Musings of Zena, a Tibetan Terrier sharing her life and wisdom with Raffles, a Standard Poodle

Park Day Princess

Gizmo over at Terrier Torrent has declared 26 April Park Day. So I thought I’d join in.

Gizmo does something calls geo-caching which sounds fun, complicated and like you might need to walk through mud or water so I don’t do that.

I do however go to the park every day. Most of you have seen my park. We have a few places around us where we can go but we love going where we meet up with our pals to play.

Here’s some of my Park Day contributions, I hope you don’t find them too tame after Gizmo’s adventures!

My park has the best smells

My park has great space to run free

And there's sometimes good places to hide.

At my park I keep the score!

At our park we meet our pals.

At my park all shapes and sizes are welcome

At my park we can all join in

At my park we get cuddles too

At my park sometimes I join in the fun.

Sometimes I stand and watch

Sometimes I sit and watch

Sometimes I sit and think (really, I do)

Sometimes I find a good stick to chew

At my park we always have fun and I get lots of exercise

And after our daily play at the park we always do this!

And after our daily play at the park we always do this!

This is my real-life park. I am not an intrepid explorer like Gizmo.

I have the beach nearby but I don’t like getting my paws wet.

I am a social butterfly. I enjoy going to my local and meeting up with the pals for a run. I am motivated by the group.

So this is my Park Day contribution.

Have fun from Zena, the stay-at-home Princess

Author: Zena

I am The Princess (aka Zena), niece of Zac the All Black and awesome Tibetan Terrier who took me in when I was just a six week pup and tried to teach me all he knew. When I was six and he was eight, Zac crossed over the rainbow bridge and all of a sudden I was alone. I could no longer be the ditzy, happy-go-lucky pup that I had been. This is a diary of how one Princess managed when the world turned real.

  1. When all else fails, there’s nothing that satisfies like stick chewing.

  2. We think your park is pawsome Zena!! And look at all those other dogs and what pretty colours they all are.Our favourite part of your park day has got to be…couch time at the end *BOL*

    Have a grrrreat weekend princess

  3. We always love seeing you at the park Zena – such a great way to tire the pup and for you to join in as much as you want.

  4. I can see you have fun! I’m a little concerned that Raffles doesn’t leave much room for you to nap on your sofa – he almost fills it.

  5. I love your park cos you have loads of buddies to play with and tons of good sniffs..Have a wonderful park day xxooxx

  6. Great fun in your park, Princess, I got the smile back on my face πŸ™‚
You have been nominated for a few Awards. Come and join the Family, if you like πŸ™‚

  7. That’s a wonderful place, perfect for a Princess :o) The German Shepherd is very nosy (literally) I think :o)

    • Yes the German Shepherd is more than a little nosy! He went to puppy school with Raffy so they are pals and I am too small to really be of interest to him, but all the other dogs are fair game to him, doesn’t matter whether they are boys or girls, he’s an equal opportunist!
His breeder may want to use him for some puppies and then it will be the big snip for Diesel!

      • his name is Diesel? like the pants? how funny:o) my neighbor has a boxer named Chanel – but if you ask me she smells like a dog, not like perfume :o)

      • I’ll ask one day how he came by the name, I somehow assumed it was like the fuel!!!
        Boxer …. Chanel….hmmmm, very interesting choice πŸ™‚
We have a Coco Chanel in the park, you might have seen her in one of the pics, she’s a black and white parti poodle. People who don’t know Coco Chanel and her penchant for black and white are thoroughly confused by the name.
I wish we’d put the pups name to the blogging community – I’m sure they would have come up with a good one – too late now though.

  8. Whee have a special surprise waiting for you!

    Nibbles, Nutty, Buddy & Basil

  9. you sure have a fabulous park and A LOT of great furiends! Our weather is FINALLY changing to the point that maybe I can FINALLY go to the park!

  10. Pals in the Park! Arrrrrrrroooooooooo!

  11. Wow, I like how many pals you get to meet in your parks! That is so cool! Happy Park Day to ya!

    • Yes, it is a very social event at our park and it’s great that we get to hang out with so many different dogs. It’s especially good for the pup to learn how to behave around different sizes and kinds. He is very gentle with the tiny ones so that is a relief. Happy Park day to you too πŸ™‚

  12. Thanks for coming to Park Day Zena! I always love pictures of your park cause you’re so pretty and the poodle pack is so much fun to watch…I like where you’re hiding in the tall grass…I love to do that too…It’s how I practice my best stealth moves…I do have some real adventures, but then other times I just like to go to the park, sniff around and enjoy a good run…

    • It was a great idea Gizmo. It’s been fun seeing where you all go for fun and I love hearing about your adventures from the comfort of my couch πŸ™‚
Stealth moves. That sounds a very good plan, I could do with practising stealth moves to avoid the pup through the day!

  13. Looks like a blast – time for Eko and I to hit the park and celebrate.

  14. Your park looks wonderful, Zena! Especially the part about playing with all those other pups πŸ˜€

    • Yes, we’re lucky that it has become so popular and generally we only meet pretty friendly dogs. Mind you, now that I have a behemoth pup as a bodyguard I don’t have to worry too much. I know that he looks to me to keep him safe but I don’t let on that he’s such a coward around the others!

  15. That looks like a super nice place to run!

    • It is a great place to run, there are trees to play hide and seek in and lots of pine cones and sticks to play with too. We don’t have a lake unless it rains a lot but as I don’t like water that’s fine with me πŸ™‚

  16. Happy Park Day Zena and Raffles!

  17. Great park post Zena! Its great to hang out with friends:-)

  18. Ohhhh Zena, I remember when you weren’t even sure if you wanted Raffles in the same house, let alone snuggled next to you for a nap. You are a good big sisfur!

    • (chuckle) yeah. He’s turning out okay, if he would just stop slobbering all over me when he wants me to play – he sucks me and it only takes a couple of sucks and I’m soaked!! Anyway, we’re getting on quite well really. I’m the boss and quite liking it!
