The Princess Tails

The Musings of Zena, a Tibetan Terrier sharing her life and wisdom with Raffles, a Standard Poodle

The Producing Princess

And no. I’m not having puppies or anything like that. The Help saw to that little matter when I was too young to remember πŸ™‚

I have made a movie. Produced, Directed and had a part. Not really the star part in this one because it is hard to do everything.

There comes a time in many a Star’s life when they decide to get behind the camera instead of in front of it. This Saturday I spent some of the time behind the scenes directing the filming.

When the real fun began though I was right there as you can see from the video. That small black streak in the midst of the chase is me. I play with the big guys and gals and I’m having a great time.

See for yourselves.

Oh. And The Help apologises for the music but because of copyright she couldn’t use any of the cool songs we wanted.

Have fun seeing what we get up to and meeting some of the names you may well hear more of on the blog.

If you are not sure who is Raffles and who is Ringo. Raffles is the dirty one! He was groomed today and is clean again. That won’t last beyond tomorrow morning and our park date.

Then the brown one is Cassie, Raffie’s best friend. The red one is Rosie who is best friends with Ollie, who Raffy also loves. Well, he loves everyone. Ollie is the super thin black one with the ballet moves. Daisy is the silver one who you catch glimpses of and then the other black one who comes in at the end is Leo who is only an occasional visitor.

Raffles today after a good groom. Waste of money if you ask me :-)

Raffles today after a good groom. Waste of money if you ask me πŸ™‚ And today is his 8 month birthday.

On another topic just before you go, pop over to Long Life Cats and Dogs where Pixels is taking part in a competition. If you haven’t voted for her, please do. Pixels is very cute and anything she wins will go to support rescue cats and dogs which is a very good cause I’m sure you’ll agree. Thanks everyone.

Love from Zena, the Directing Princess

Author: Zena

I am The Princess (aka Zena), niece of Zac the All Black and awesome Tibetan Terrier who took me in when I was just a six week pup and tried to teach me all he knew. When I was six and he was eight, Zac crossed over the rainbow bridge and all of a sudden I was alone. I could no longer be the ditzy, happy-go-lucky pup that I had been. This is a diary of how one Princess managed when the world turned real.

  1. I cannot watch the video because it says “This is a private video.” What kind of movie did you take part in??? HELP!!!!

  2. The video was fantastic, I have never seen so many Poodle Pups πŸ™‚ That is my idea of heaven πŸ™‚ xxooxx

    Mollie and Alfie

  3. This was really fun and I loved the music, Princess. It gave the video the special “swing”. You’re a good producer..keep on the good work πŸ™‚

    • Yes. I’ve had lots of practice. Truth to tell I have to run The Help’s life; tell her when to take me out, when to cuddle me, when to feed me, when I want attention. I try and stop her doing silly things, like go out shopping but I’m not always successful. I think these are skills which work well as I manage the poodles in the park.

  4. I am so pleased that you stepped out from behind the camera for a small role – I think you make the film!

  5. Whee love it. Hollywood will be calling any day now. And actually whee quite like the music too!

    Nibbles, Nutty, Buddy & Basil

  6. Very well produced and directed Princess Zena. Wow, look at you, keeping up with all the bigger dogs. My word, it looks like poodles are particularly popular over there. Such wonderful dogs.
PS – thanks so much for the shout out for Pixels. Truly appreciated.

    • Yes it does make it look as if everyone has a poodle doesn’t it? In fact before we lost Zac we only ever saw two and they were not in this film. All these Standards are under two years and I don’t quite know where they were before. We didn’t know them. Several of the owners are long standing poodle owners though not Standards before. The funny thing is two of the Standards, Rosie and Ollie come from the same kennel as Raffie. Anyway, there they are and the group seems to keep growing. There is another neighbour who lost a standard a few months ago and who is planning to get another soon so we can add a newbie perhaps.

  7. Well done Director Zena! What a ball all of you have at the park – running sooooooooooooo fast and playing together! I’m impressed – I got exhausted just WATCHING you all. I bet Raffles looked nice and WHITE for about five minutes after he had his grooming….HAHAHA

    Kitty Hugs, Sammy

    • You are so right – on both counts. I did have a good stretch running in the park, it’s good for me AND Raffie has just returned from this mornings jaunt and whilst not as filthy as he will be in a few weeks, is no longer quite as clean and white πŸ™‚

  8. I watched the video before reading the post and was wondering who was Raffles, the dirty one lol
You between horses, raffle is a gown up now!
Does he pee inside? Or is he all house trained now?
You are little but sure are fast, caught up with then easily.

    • I am little but fast and I corner way better than many of them. Raffles to his credit never has had an accident in the house. The first night he used my bed as his personal ensuite which I thought was very wrong. After that he got into the routine and realised he had to be all done before bed so he was pretty much house-trained from the beginning. Of course that was my input. I gave him the hard word after that first night and he knuckled under πŸ˜€
Yep – Raffie will not stay clean. He might look poufy and white but he throws himself on the ground at the first opportunity so that the others can get on top and wrestle him πŸ˜‰

  9. Too much poodle and not enough princess.

  10. Wow who knew Raffles could clean up that nice BOL! You did a super job directing Zena…coaxing those great performances out of a pack of poodles must have been a lot like herding cats…can’t wait for your next epic

  11. Looks like everypawdy is having a great time!

  12. Wowwie! That is a whole pack of dogs with weird haircuts! Is they a gang? They sure looks like they is having fun though.

    • Yep – the Standard Poodle Gang – the weirdest hairdo is poor old Leo – (actually he’s only 18 months old), he is the big black one you see coming in with the high topknot and lots of hair. He isn’t allowed to join in much – he might get dirty!
I’m the only sensible one there πŸ˜€

  13. What a great posse of Poodles! Great to see you right in the midst of things Zena. What a brave and forceful girl you are πŸ˜‰

  14. Such a professional video!
you all look like you’re having great fun:-)

    • We do have a lot of fun. And although it might seem like we’re exclusive, we do have other dogs join us in the fun from time to time. Today we had three border collies chasing around too πŸ™‚

  15. Great video! I can see you all have a great time. Zena, you make an excellent Poodle herder!

  16. That’s a great video, Zena! You all seemed to have lots of fun! I loved watching it!

Also, I wanted to thank you for coming to my pawty last week, and for your birthday wishes!
