Yes folks. Once again I am thrilled to announce that I have been recognised by one of my fellow bloggers and I count this as a huge achievement. Why? Because this time it is a cat! Yes. You heard me. A cat.

A cat has done me the honour of nominating my blog for the ‘Seven Things About Me’ Award.

This very special and discerning feline is Sammy from The One Spoiled Cat Blog. I have got to know Sammy a little from this blog and I have to say folks that I think the name is rather appropriate! Sammy is a rather lucky cat and he knows it. He is a rather smart and good looking ginger tabby, I do so admire his coat. He photographs really well which is a very important step to stardom. And yes, he is spoiled but it hasn’t spoiled him. So go and check Sam out if you don’t know him. He once chased a fox – really! I thought that was very dumb brave πŸ™‚

Sammy and I did get pretty tight when his pal Mollie was kidnapped eloped stolen missing.

This is my new award which if word press is behaving itselfΒ  will appear to the right of my blog. As word press swallowed several of my awards last week I am now watching them closely. I think there is some sabotage going on. I do not think Doggy is behind it, he is innocent this time.

I think this is a pretty wonderful award because it gives me permission to talk about something which is very important to me. ME!

I get to tell you seven (only seven though) things about me. As this whole blog is about me you already know a ton of things. However, we never sit down and chat over a bone or a chew toy so you actually don’t know some of the simplest things about me. The sorts of things you would know about a close friend. So I decided to tell you some of those things.

1. My favourite scent: Possum Poo. Really, it is the best smell for miles and girls if you ever want to garner some extra interest at the leash-free, roll in some possum poo before a walk.

2. My favourite colour: This was harder. I love yellow because it’s a happy colour and red because it suits me, but in the end I have to say pink because Magic introduced me to pink and she taught me that it’s the colour for girly girls. But then I am black……. okay, I like lots of colours πŸ™‚

3. My favourite film – Up.

4. My favourite film star – Higgins. Who you ask? Higgins. He was the star of the Benji film and a real cutie with a great story. He was a mutt who was found in a shelter and rose to stardom but he still remained faithful and had his paws firmly on the ground. Yes, I know. You thought I’d go for someone light and frivolous like Lady from Lady and the Tramp didn’t you? Well I admire hard won success and Higgins is a real success story. He made it against all the odds, without privilege or advantage and I take comfort from his story and hope that one day I too will be discovered.

5. My favourite song – ‘I thought I lost you’ from Bolt. That one always brings a tear to my eye.

6. My favourite bedtime reading – ‘Princess Zelda and the Frog’, The Producer changes it to Princess Zena and the Frog πŸ™‚

7. My favourite hobby – That does change a little bit. At the moment it’s ‘Tease the puppy’. I like to grab a chew of some description and casually walk over to him, I drop it just past his nose and when I have his attention I scoop it up and quickly walk (or run) away. It works every time πŸ˜€

So those are some of my favourite things so I hope you feel you know me a little better now.

Now to name seven other blogs to talk about their seven favourite things. Once again guys, I have tried to check your blogs to see if you have the award, sorry if I missed it and have doubled up. If you have an aversion to awards, just enjoy the fact that we thought of you πŸ™‚

I hope everyone has a happy Monday and rest of the week. I will leave you with a real time photo of me which The Producer just took. Not my best angle, but having just come back from another jaunt around the park I am just chilling and thinking about a few of my favourite things…..

Love from Zena – The Flamboyant Princess

Author: Zena

I am The Princess (aka Zena), niece of Zac the All Black and awesome Tibetan Terrier who took me in when I was just a six week pup and tried to teach me all he knew. When I was six and he was eight, Zac crossed over the rainbow bridge and all of a sudden I was alone. I could no longer be the ditzy, happy-go-lucky pup that I had been. This is a diary of how one Princess managed when the world turned real.

Sammy is a super cool furriend, isn’t he?
Also, you seem to have got your bed back πŸ˜‰
    Purrs

    • Except he got into it last night. The Producer still isn’t sure if he pushed me out of it or if I got out of it and then he got in. So much for him not using it when it’s under the table!

  7. What a gloriously relaxed girl you look – almost a smile on your face. Congrats on the award – possom poo eh? Good thing we don’t have that round here πŸ˜€

  8. Possum Poo, we don’t get possum’s so I will settle for Fox poo..BOL. Big congratulations Zena, a fantastic award πŸ™‚ Love the Chillaxing photo πŸ™‚ xx00xx

    Mollie and Alfie

  9. Possum poo by Chanel?
Up was a great movie, from start to end.
    Congrats on the awards.
Nice pic but you are showing your things, this pic will hunt you later in life when you become famous.

    • Do you think it will catch on? Every celebrity seems to have their own scent. Possum Poo by Princess Zena πŸ˜€
Re: Photo. I know…. I was so embarrassed. The Producer didn’t even photoshop a flower or a piece of bling to cover my modesty. Luckily I have pretty long hair.. but you are right. This will come back to bite me!

  10. Congratulations on you award!
That isn’t a very princess-like pose! Those sneaky photographers – you should sue them!

  11. Congratulations Zena. A Princess, such as yourself, deserves tons of awards. I adore the photo – I think you look so beautiful and relaxed. Possum poo – hmmm – not so sure about that but, then again, I’m not a dog. I’m sure Litchi would approve tremendously. πŸ˜€

  12. Oh Princess what a peachy pose that is in your bed – is your Mom sending that to “Guydog Magazine” as a possible centerfold??? I’m glad you like your award – you deserve it – and loved your 7 fave things too. Hope you have a perfectly delightful Monday…and I mean that!

    Kitty Hugs, Sammy

    • Now there’s an idea, ‘Guydog Magazine’. I have a feeling that it might not be good later on when I’m famous though and like many a celebrity before me I’ll end up in court trying to buy the negatives!

  13. Hee hee I love that game too! I even sometimes hit ernest on the head with the toy if I do not have his full attention – you should try it!

  14. Hey Zena, Jet here.

Congrats on your pawesome award. We loved your view of “we never sit down and chat over a bone or a chew toy” and thank you for taking the time to share the “little things.”

Mom especially loved your belly photo… you know how irresistible she finds bellies! She asked me to share that she would give you a great belly rub!

Wowee wow wow, thanks for bestowing this award on us, we’re deeply appreciative. We’re still digging out from Mom’s time away, so bear with us. πŸ™‚

  15. Congrats!! And thanks for passing this on to me:-)

  16. hoho, thanks for nominating me, dear princess. hmmm can you send me a possum? We haven’t such an animal here and I think possum-poo could be my new perfume :o)

    • I would love to send you a Possum but I don’t think they would let me. Believe it or not the Possums are protected here. We are not allowed to hurt them or get them out of the garden. If they get into your house (the roof), you have to pay to have an expert come and remove them, patch up the roof and put them somewhere local, usually in your trees! They are sneaky little things that hiss and keep just out of my reach up the trees. One did fall out of a tree once and Zac and I found it. If that happens again Easy, I’ll send it to you. You would love possum poo I just know it πŸ˜€

      • Oh that would be great!!! The possum could live in my toy box and sleep in my bed ;o) Here the HORNETS! are protected ( no I’m not drunken, lol) We had a swarm in my chimney and it we got a lot of trouble for removing this creatures.

      • :-O Protected hornets????? Gee. When The Producer lived in France they got rid of a nest without problems, maybe new rules have been brought in. Do you get Fouine where you are? They are the little darlings who chew through car wires!
The locals got rid of them too without getting into trouble. Maybe it was just that she wasn’t caught! She should never go back, there might be an order to pick her up for gross cruelty to insects.

      • It was a “goofy” of an whatever authority who said we have to pay for a beekeper who can resettle the hornets…but we solved the problem with 4 firework rockets. It was a mess but we were successfull ;o) Fortunately we haven’t weasels here, only in pet stores than they name it ferret ;o)

      • Nothing like power to send people crazy – I should know, I now live with a giant, powerful puppy! Sounds the best use of fireworks yet! Love you’re family πŸ™‚ My family is far to straight to have thought of that πŸ™‚

  17. That’s awesome! Congratulations!

  18. Yay, congratulations Zena! And that is the best way to have a really good nap – especially in your pretty butterfly bed πŸ™‚

  19. Princess Zena, congratulations on your award. Loved your 7-answers, especially the one of your own fairytale… and now I’m on my way to rub your belly…awwww πŸ™‚
